Who Am I?

 Thanks for dropping by.

I’m a writer and a speaker. I’m a woman journeying through midlife.

And, I guess that’s the short answer.

Truth is that who I am depends on who you’re talking to. I’m a daughter, a granddaughter and a niece. I’m a sister and a friend. I’m a wife, a lover and a soul-mate. I’m a mother and a grandmother. I’m an aunt and a sister-in-law. I’m half of the duo Praise of Two.

I have been a babysitter and a coffee “engineer.” I’ve worked with computers all my adult life, from the monstrosities that need a huge sound-proof room to my dual-core PC and my very portable laptop. I’ve waitressed and home-helped. I’ve worked in hospital records and on a mink ranch. I’ve taught children all about maple syrup and looked at numbers ‘til I was cross-eyed and all the numbers looked the same.

And that’s just skimming the surface…

But, what about you?

Please come again and we’ll get to know one another.

Let’s journey together.

  1. Hey, Denise, very nice, sharp and clean format.
    Great theme for the sisters.

Congratulations! — from a brother, lost somewhere on the journey from upper midlife-to- senior transition.

  2. Lovely photo [location?] and down-to-earth message. I’m with you in that place.

Waiting for the humour, or is that better in person?

  3. What a great website and a fitting day to start. Many blessings on your journey Denise:)

  4. Hey, Denise

I can finally get to talk to you! So good to hear from you, it’s been a long time. I am keeping busy, and well. Our community is busy cleaning up after our tornado that hit us July 24. A lot of tree and property damage, but no injuries or loss of homes. Did you hear about it?
Looking forward to continuing on this journey, and I’ll take “Spice Chai” please. God bless~~~~Edith

  5. What a great idea and what a great looking site!
    Have fun with it!

  6. Hey Sister, great space. Looking forward to seeing more. Glad your first and I am following. (FYI to all, I am Denise’s little sis) Supporter of all her adventures and biggest fan. Love you Denise.

  8. Hi Denise,

I am looking for guest bloggers on my blog Fit for Faith (http://www.fitforfaith.blogspot.com) for the month of June. Are you interested in contributing an article? We can link back to your blog and give a 100-word bio as promotion if you’d like. Please let me know if you’re interested.

  9. Hi Denise –

What a happy, pleasant site – a welcome reprieve from the heavy topic to which I post daily.

I used to think how nice it would be to be a singer with CDs (because everyone loves smiling singers) instead of a writer/speaker with a heavy message. But since solo artists have been largely replaced by praise teams, perhaps I’ll envy the pleasant, happy bloggers. 🙂

  10. Hi Denise

this is your “little” cousin in England. Came across your website by accident.
Great to read about you and the family. Please give everyone my love.

Great to hear from you Caroline! How are you and your family doing? And your mum? Please send me an email so we can catch up. As you can tell by my posts I haven’t updated for a while, so just seeing your note now.

      love, Denise 🙂

  11. Denise, I have just finished perusing your wonderful site. What a treat. I hope you will continue in your fictional “spare time” to update this with your writings…looking to read more…Bless you
